Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $63,120)
This project will continue NIBRS transition and program expansion efforts in the State of Hawaii. Project funds will be used by the state UCR program (SAC) to extend its parent agency's membership in the Open Justice Broker Consortium to include 400 additional technical assistance hours from SEARCH. As the top priority, the SEARCH TA will be utilized to support the state UCR program's NIBRS transition and certification efforts for the Maui and Hawaii County PDs, and for recertifying the Honolulu PD following their launch of a new records management system in September 2022. SEARCH will also expand and enhance the NIBRS data repository's analytical, operational, and sustainability features and functionality, as directed by the state UCR program throughout the project period. Project funds will be used for SAC staff to attend a NIBRS-related conference hosted by BJS, ASUCRP, JRSA, and/or the FBI, should an appropriate, post-pandemic, in-person event be held during the project period.
