Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $49,869)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.
Under this award, the Alaska Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) proposes to create a National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) compliant library of reusable component XML schemas for arrest reports, criminal case intakes and dispositions, booking forms, criminal fingerprint cards, citation forms, and criminal complaints. The project will make datasets and XML schemas available to criminal justice agencies via the SAC's website. Funds are also requested to pay travel expenses to the annual NIEM workshop and BJS/JRSA conference.
