Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $50,000)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through the collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.
Under this SJS award, the Idaho State Police will carry out research activities in two areas. The first involves using NIBRS data to develop reports on drug trends and violence between intimate partners. The second entails using performance measures to help criminal justice agencies more effectively address public safety and administration of justice goals.
The SAC also plans to attend meetings of Idaho's Substance Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup and will be involved in the group's efforts toward collecting data on statewide indicators of substance abuse.
