Household noninterviews occur when no one from a selected household participates in the NCVS. There are three types of household noninterviews – Type A, Type B, and Type C.

In this video, BJS Statistician Rachel Morgan, PhD, focuses on weighting the NCVS data. She briefly discusses sample weights and focuses primarily on NCVS-specific weights that need to be applied to the NCVS data to make the data representative of the U.S. population of households or persons age 12 or older. The NCVS data files include household, person, incident, and victimization weights.
