Description
The Law Enforcement Core Statistics (LECS) Program will focus on the organizational characteristics of law enforcement agencies (LEAs). The goal of the program is to provide accurate and timely national statistics about the personnel, operations, policies, and procedures of state, local, and tribal LEAs in the United States. The LECS includes three of BJS ™s core law enforcement collections: Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics (LEMAS) core survey, Survey of Campus Law Enforcement Agencies (SCLEA) and the Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies (CSLLEA). The award recipient, working with BJS, will field the LEMAS core in 2020, develop a frame and field the SCLEA in 2021, update the frame and field the CSLLEA in 2022, develop and test a LEMAS supplemental survey instrument, and develop and maintain of an active roster of in-service law enforcement agencies
