National Victimization Statistical Support Program

The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is interested in funding additional work related
to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) and disseminating the resulting
products to the public. BJS envisions achieving these goals through an expansion of the National Victimization Statistical Support Program (NVSSP). Currently, the NVSSP involves a number of tasks requested by BJS that are being performed by RTI.

This supplemental award will fund some additional tasks and/or expand existing tasks. The four tasks that will be added or expanded with these supplemental funds are:

1) Continued development of the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) Subnational Estimation Program;

2) Assessment of undercoverage in the NCVS and better understanding of the correlates of victimization, including offending (i.e., Victim-Offender Overlap Study Pilot Test);

3) Continued development of the NVSSP homicide research program; and

4) Enhanced reporting of findings from the ongoing Campus Climate Survey Validation Study (CCSVS).
