2009 Survey of Juveniles Charged in Adult Criminal Courts

The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is funding work necessary for the completion of the Survey of Juveniles Charged in Adult Criminal Courts (SJCACC). The purpose of the SJCACC is to collect and archive information about the criminal case processing of juveniles (youth younger than age 18) in adult criminal courts across the country. This study will provide the first available data on how many youth are charged in criminal court, the characteristics of these youth, the pathways that led them to criminal court, and the final disposition of their cases.
