The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.

The Arizona Statistical Analysis Center (AZSAC), located within the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC), will use SJS funds to: 1) Support AZSAC staff who will work with the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission's (ACJC) Drug, Gang, and Violent Crime Program and its grantees to enhance the performance measurement of the state's Byrne/JAG grant programs; 2) Utilize state criminal history records to analyze patterns of domestic violence in Arizona; and 3) Utilize state criminal history records to analyze patterns of identity theft in Arizona.
