Statistical Analysis Center Crime Data
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about the supplemental awards but the information about the original award is unavailable.
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.
Under this award, the New Hampshire Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) will provide accurate and timely crime statistics to the general public, legislators, the media, and policymakers nationwide.
The SAC will conduct research using incident-based crime data that are compatible with the National Incident-Based Reporting System. Specifically, the SAC will contract with a research entity (Beyond 20/20) to implement access to view statewide data. This particular entity is advantageous to New Hampshire because they offer unique services that meet the state's needs and also serve neighboring states of Vermont and Massachusetts which will enable the compilation of regional crime statistics.
