The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.

Under this award, the Wisconsin Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) will increase web access to data by developing a justice Cybrary, a statewide repository of justice data resources.

In the State of Wisconsin, research and data on individuals in the criminal justice system are maintained by a variety of agencies at the state and local levels. A great deal of useful information exists, however it often requires a substantial amount of time and resources to find it. The Cybrary will be designed to provide decision-makers, practitioners, and the public with online access to a single source of justice-related statistical information. This information will include data sets, published reports, automated queries, reference guides, tutorials, and resource listings from state and local justice-related agencies.
