Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $49,068)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through the collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.
Under this award, the Alaska Statistical Analysis Center proposes to establish a web browser based electronic system for managing and sharing information on 'bail conditions of release.' The site will permit authorized users to look up bail restrictions for individuals that are under investigation and allow for modifications of the restrictions by appropriate personnel. Users will also be able to create datasets and XML documents for use in research.
