Pennsylvania NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP)

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), through a sub-award to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) will use funds for five projects: 1) overtime for Mental Health NICS/PICS Entries – funds will be used through a subaward with PSP for an overtime project to have staff enter mental health information into the NICS. The project will ensure more records are available and accessible in the NICS Indices; 2) PSP Overtime for Record of Sale Data Entry –funds will be used through a subaward with PSP for an overtime project to support PSP staff to convert a backlog of Record of Sales forms for electronic submission. The project will ensure records for background checks are accurate and up-to-date; 3) PSP Overtime for Firearm Investigation Referrals – funds will be used for an overtime project to support PSP staff to research and determine a backlog of firearms investigation referrals. The project will ensure records for background checks are complete and up-to-date.
