Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $68,625)

The Arizona Statistical Analysis Center (AZSAC), housed within the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC), requests funds to support a core capacity-building project, titled “Building the Data Infrastructure for Monitoring Justice Program Performance.”  The AZSAC staff has created working relationships with other state agencies and community leaders to access important criminal justice-related data. In combination with internal data sources, the next evolution in the process is to provide key performance indicators efficiently and effectively to the ACJC program managers and program stakeholders. The proposed project is an effort to provide easily accessible, internal business intelligence data dashboards containing key indicators to accomplish three critical goals: 1) facilitate evidence-based program decision-making through real-time availability of performance indicators, 2) build capacity for consistent data validation among the data stewards and business stakeholders, and 3) ensure maximum return on program investment during current and future funding cycles. The ACJC program managers will be able to securely access the real-time dashboard information 24/7, and additional functionality will be built for simple extraction and dissemination of information to external grantees and program stakeholders in the formats most beneficial to the managers and data consumers.
