FY 2023 Survey of Prison Inmates Data Linkage Program (SPI DLP)

Abt Associates proposes to implement the Survey of Prison Inmates Data Linkage Program. The purpose is to enhance the utility of the 2016 Survey of Prison Inmates data to expand the Bureau of Justice Statistics research  and reporting capacity. Project activities include the development and production of substantive reports; methodological and data processing tasks that support report activities; exploring the feasibility of a linked data file and documentation for archiving; meet data security and human protection requirements; undertaking routine statistics to expand on the SPI statistical reporting program; and conduct project management. Expected outcomes include up to five reports including supporting materials (justification documentation and if feasible, new data files and statistical programs); disclosure analysis plan to determine the feasibility of linked data file(s), and if determined feasible the creation of linked data file(s) and supporting documentation. The Bureau of Justice Statistics is the intended beneficiary of the project.
