Sexual Assaults Recorded by Law Enforcement, 2015 is an online, interactive report that presents statistics on sexual assault victimizations reported by law enforcement agencies to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). The report visualizes statistics through charts and graphs and includes an interactive feature that lets readers choose how they view the data. The report provides detailed statistics on four types of violent sexual assaults recorded by law enforcement: rape, sodomy, sexual assault with an object, and fondling. The interactive charts compare the demographic characteristics of sexual assault victims to victims of other serious violent crimes, examine sexual victimization rates by victim demographics, and provide statistics on police clearance and arrest outcomes for sexual assaults. Data were submitted by state and local law enforcement agencies from 15 states in which all agencies were certified to report their 2015 crime data to NIBRS. Data tables are available for download directly from the report page.
