BJS FY24 Federal Law Enforcement Agency Deaths in Custody Reporting Program, 2024-2026

Pursuant to the Death in Custody Reporting Act (P.L. 113 242), the heads of federal law enforcement (LE) agencies are required to report information regarding the death of any person while that person is detained, under arrest, or in the process of being arrested by federal LE officers or while in custody. The Bureau of Justice Statistics administers the collection of these data from federal LE agencies through the Federal Law Enforcement Agency Deaths in Custody Reporting Program (FDCRP), which has collected yearly data since FY18. This new competitive solicitation for FDCRP will fund three years of data collection to include FY24, FY25, and FY26.
