Description
As of January 1, 2021, the FBI's National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is the law enforcement crime data reporting standard for the nation. NIBRS collects detailed crime incident data from law enforcement agencies, including data on bias motivated incidents. The Jabara Heyer NO HATE Act NIBRS Transition Program authorizes BJS to provide funding to support law enforcement agencies to transition their crime reporting to comply with NIBRS requirements. This solicitation will seek one awardee to allocate funds, at the direction of BJS, to state Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Programs (the state agencies that administer NIBRS data collection for law enforcement in the state) or directly to local law enforcement agencies. The awardee will also be responsible for administering technical assistance to the subawardee entities, as needed or requested.
