Louisiana Statistical Analysis Center

The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.

Under this award, the Louisiana Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) will 1) conduct research and special analyses using incident-based reporting data; 2) produce a study on Louisiana's sentencing practices; and, 3) collect and report data on the Disproportionate Minority Contact of juvenile and adult offenders in Louisiana's criminal justice system. Funds are also requested for the SAC Director to attend the BJS/JRSA Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
