Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $52,965)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.
Under this award, the New Mexico Statistical Analysis Center (NMSAC) will build a website that provides timely access to SAC research and activities. The website will provide criminal justice practitioners, policy makers, and the public at large with a trustworthy and reputable source for both functional and long-term accessibility to crime trend data and other policy relevant research. In addition to the web project, the NMSAC will increase the visibility of the SAC through regular publication of research projects in journals that target both academic researchers and criminal justice practitioners.
