State Justice Statistics Program for Statistical Analysis Centers

The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.

Under this award, the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Statistical Analysis Center will continue the conversion of the Microsoft Access Mini Records Management System (MRMS) to a Java web-based application. The conversion will result in a fully functional, integrated, and secure web-based crime incident collection tool. Multiple and concurrent users at Missouri law enforcement agencies will be able to use this tool to report crime data to the State Repository and have it included in the FBI's NDex System. Additional funds will be used for travel to the annual JRSA national conference.

Under this award, the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Statistical Analysis Center intends to facilitate the deployment of a fully functional, integrated, and secure web-based crime incident collection tool - the Mini Records Management System (MRMS). Multiple and concurrent users at Missouri law enforcement agencies will be able to use this tool to report crime data to the State Repository and have it included in the FBI's NDex System. Additional funds will be used to distribute copies of the annual Crime in Missouri report and for travel to the annual JRSA national conference. CA/NCF

Under this award, the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) will conduct a requirements analysis for the development of a business intelligence (BI) dashboard component for the SAC website. The project will be conducted in two phases. In Phase I, the selected contractor will review and document business requirements to identify specific criminal justice and traffic safety statistics, dimensions, and visual representations to be implemented on the BI dashboard. Technical documentation to be provided by the contractor will fully describe statistical transformation processes and storage. In addition, dashboard user roles and security, testing, and quality assurance requirements for production release will be documented. The implementation plan will be the basis for a future grant request to fund Phase II of the dashboard project.
