Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $1,123,857)
The Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE) in partnership with the Louisiana Supreme Court (LSC), Court Case Management Information Systems (CMIS) Division works to improve the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of criminal dispositions and mental health data received from trial courts for reporting to NICS, the Louisiana Computerized Criminal History (LACCH), and for sharing with the Interstate Identification Index (III). Funding will support agency, court, or office leveraging technology to ensure that critical missing data elements are identified and captured at the time of arrest, filing, or adjudication. The lack of data can then be communicated to the Clerk and District Attorney (DA) for resolution so that complete data can be transmitted to CMIS daily. Updating case management systems and electronic data exchanges between the Clerk, DA and the arresting agency will improve the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of information available to NICS and LACCH.
