Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $50,000)
The Wyoming Office of the Attorney General will use funds to purchase products and support systems which will enhance security involved with users who view and enter sensitive information into Wyoming’s criminal history databases. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation’s (DCI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) acts as the criminal record repository for the State of Wyoming. Through this role, DCI assists local agencies with updating technology when it can. Specifically, funds are requested to purchase soft tokens that will be used for multi-factor authentication for various criminal justice agencies across the state. The soft tokens will create an updated system of authentication to be used by all NCIC users in Wyoming. The added security policy is included in the FBI CJIS Security Policy and directly relates to supporting participation in III and NFF. About 2,500 soft tokens will be purchased for each NCIC user in Wyoming.
