FY 2023 Hawaii SJS Program

The Hawaii SAC proposes to continue NIBRS transition and program expansion efforts in the State of Hawaii.  Project funds will be used by the state UCR program (a SAC role in Hawaii) to extend its parent agency's membership in the Open Justice Broker Consortium to include 350 additional technical assistance hours from SEARCH.  Technical assistance will be used to (1) assist the state UCR program’s NIBRS (re-)certification efforts for local police departments; (2) migrate a forthcoming Microsoft Power BI statistical dashboard to a State of Hawaii hosting environment; (3) enhance data submission and auditing processes; (4) expand Hawaii-specific Incident-Based Reporting in various ways; and (5) enhance the Hawaii-specific version of SEARCH’s Pre-Certification Tool.  Project funds will also be used for staff to attend a NIBRS-related conference hosted by BJS, the FBI, ASUCRP, and/or JRSA.
