FY 2023 Wisconsin NCHIP Supplemental Funding

Under this award, the Wisconsin Department of Justice (WI DOJ) requests funds to address the lack of tools to identify potentially missing arrest events, WI DOJ is proposing to create data dashboards that will allow staff to dynamically filter court cases submitted to the CCH without corresponding arrest events to identify problems or issues more efficiently as they arise. To address the lack of documentation related to the flow of data from the courts to the CCH, WI DOJ proposes to produce more technical documentation. To address the potential missing court records in the CCH, WI DOJ proposes to conduct a structured audit of what has been submitted by the courts and consumed by the CCH. Addressing these issues will not only improve the completeness of the WI CCH but will also increase what WI DOJ submits to the Interstate Identification Index, resulting in more accurate background checks at all levels.
