Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $1,499,998)
To continue efforts to strengthen Guam's criminal history records infrastructure, the Judiciary requests funds to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of Guam's criminal history records, thereby improving the reporting of dispositions to the FBI. This goal will be achieved by implementing the following objectives: 1) digitizing and updating manual arrest and firearms records, warrants, new and archived court case records, and dispositions, and 2) providing administrative resources to implement the project. These initiatives support FY 2022 NCHIP's priority areas to ensure that records of all criminal events, starting with an arrest or indictment, are included in background check files; thereby resulting in more criminal history data available in national records systems. The continued support from the Bureau of Justice Statistics is critical to addressing the Judiciary's criminal history improvement needs and ensuring Guam's progress toward compliance with the FBI's III standards.
