Now hiring: BJS Writer-Editor

BJS is seeking a writer-editor in the Communications Unit. Job duties include:

  • Writing, editing, and reviewing reports, webpages, or other information materials for diverse audiences on a variety of topics. Identifying data sources and information and highlighting key issues and program requirements to complete assignments. 
     
  • Drafting or editing programs, policies, functions, and topics that affect agency mission, such as print and digital statistical reports, press releases, articles, guidance documents, presentations, promotional material, and reports to senior officials. 
     
  • Assisting with drafting and editing responses to inquiries from the media, researchers, legislators, the general public, colleagues, and senior leaders. 
     
  • Consulting with the editorial team on various style issues, and with the lead technical writer-editor and Chief of the Communications Unit to plan for and oversee publications and products under development.
