BJS is seeking Statisticians (Social Science) at the GS-13/14 levels to lead major statistical initiatives and guide program development. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designing and managing one or more complex statistical data series or major components of a large-scale data series, including program development, project management, data collection and data analysis.
- Conducting statistical analysis and applying this to a wide variety of situations to solve novel problems related to the research area supported.
- Developing new statistical methods and/or modifying existing data analysis methods.
- Presenting statistical findings to a wide range of audiences including professional associations, agency representatives, criminal justice researchers, and more.
