FY 2023 Illinois Courts NCHIP Supplemental Funding

Under this award, the Illinois Administrative Office of the Courts proposes establishing statewide and systemwide processes in each of the 102 counties in Illinois. The project aims to ensure NICS receipt of all criminal history disposition data and mental health records and establish a robust collection, reporting, and accountability system to flag and promptly remedy incomplete disposition records. Through this work, Illinois will be better equipped to ensure that all individuals deemed ineligible to purchase or possess firearms due to qualifying criminal convictions, domestic violence, or mental health events are prohibited from doing so.
