The Bureau of Justice Statistics seeks a Supervisory Statistician (Chief, Publications and Dissemination) to direct, advise, produce, and disseminate statistical reports, news releases, social and visual media products, policy documents, and other written material in support of the agency's mission to collect, analyze, and disseminate reliable statistics on crime and justice systems in the United States. Job duties include—
- working with statisticians and management to identify emerging trends in crime and criminal justice for setting publication priorities
- planning, designing, and overseeing agency-wide policies, programs, and procedures governing internal and external development and dissemination of statistical and informational products
- serving as an expert authority and leader in a statistical or technical area, providing advice to managers, statisticians, analysts, and other staff on technical and statistical applications
- designing, developing, and maintaining systems for converting written products into formats for distribution on multiple platforms, such as the website, social media, and news outlets.
