Apply Now: BJS Supervisory Statistician Vacancy Announced

BJS is seeking a supervisory statistician to serve as chief of the Victimization Statistics Unit. Among eligibility requirements, applicants must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university with a specific number of hours in statistics or on other topics (see full Qualifications Statement). Among job duties are—

  • overseeing the sample design, methods of collection, data quality control, estimation procedures, and analytic plans for major data collections
  • providing technical assistance and guidance to projects involving complex methodological issues or serving as an expert on broad statistical research or specialized statistical methods
  • consulting and collaborating with governmental officials, professional associations, and others to advise on the application of statistics to criminal justice issues, policies, and programs. Apply now. Applications are due by March 26, 2019.
